A diagram of income sources. Radio licences 4,480,300 x £1; TV licences 10,469,753 x £3+£1 tax. Gross revenue £36,209,680. Deductions: Post Office £2,394,060; Treasury £2,529,467. Other income £1,233,788. Net income £32,519,941. Divided between sound £13,654,611 and TV £18,865,330

* In addition to this figure, the Treasury received Excise Duty of some £10,565,000 and Income Tax £1,160,107
