NOW BRISTOL HAS ITS OWN LOCAL TV CHANNEL

– it started at breakfast time this morning

Bristol Channel is the extra channel which is provided at no extra cost to Bristol Subscribers by Rediffusion on its Cable Network.

It’s an entirely new television service – one of only five in the country licensed by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in an experiment that runs to 1976.

Bristol Channel is local – more local than any television has managed to be before. If you like to sit back and watch you’ll see people and places and some films (yours perhaps?) you never expected to see on the box.

Bristol Channel is yours – more yours than any television you’ve ever seen. If you prefer not just watching come to Broad Plain and appear on Television, make the programmes yourself, operate the equipment. A small full-time staff is there to help**

Bristol Channel is special – its equipment is especially designed for the Public to use – camera, lighting, sound – if that’s what interests you, come and use it.

Bristol Channel is different – it has no connection with ITV or BBC.

** Manager – Peter Lewis
Engineer in Charge – Keith Banham
Producer – Stuart Leatherdale
Producer – Martin Rubach
PA/Researcher – Mij Evans
Technician – Nigel Woodman
Contact them at: 2/3 Broad Plain, Bristol
Telephone: 299069

Only Rediffusion Subscribers connected by cable can receive Bristol Channel. Most will find the new service on Channel G of their wall switch.

If you already receive your television by cable check your wall switch to find Bristol Channel. If you are not receiving sound and pictures, ring Bristol 22368.

If you ore not connected to Rediffusion’s Cable Network and want to be, telephone or visit your nearest Rcdiffusion Showroom.

REMEMBER – A REDIFFUSION CABLE TV SET GIVES YOU ALL THE BBC AND ITV PROGRAMMES PLUS BRISTOL CHANNEL (and radio programmes too!)
