It’s really great to see all of these fact sheets for BBC local radio & to see Radio Sheffield, my hometown on here.

Really surprised to see Radio Sheffield was on 97.4 Mhz before Radio Hallam, I know they were on 95.2 & 95.9 originally.

Interesting to see that 97.4 for Radio Sheffield was transmitting from Holme Moss and the service area looking like it only just reached Sheffield, maybe only the City Centre and maybe on the hills of Sheffield might’ve picked it up then.

But I know that 88.6 doesn’t quite get all round Sheffield and South Yorkshire, that’s why they ended up with 104.1Mhz too, I guess?

I know 94.7 for Chesterfield was only added in the mid 90s I think. 94.7 is best for me where I live currently, as I’m to far out to the edge of South Sheffield to receive 88.6 clearly, I do receive 94.7 better as I’m nearer Chesterfield to Sheffield, but there can be static.
