All change in London today as ITN finally got their mits on London Tonight and London Today.

Over at the Beeb, the “LDN” branding was abandoned for the BBC’s London radio, TV and online services. Famously Greg Dyke told staff at BBC London that even he didn’t know how to pronounce it.

Funnily enough, the brand was never the actual name for any of the services, which were BBC London 94.9, BBC London News and BBC London Online. But given that they were rarely used in print or on screen, it’s perhaps not that surprising that people didn’t know…
