We’ve moved Westminster to Manchester. Barely a hundred yards from Coronation Street, and just up from Sherlock Holmes’ Baker Street, we’ve constructed a replica of the House of Commons including the Chamber and Members’ Lobby. It is the set for our 10 part adaptation of Jeffrey Archer’s best selling political blockbuster “First Among Equals”, and heralds another major addition to the long list of top quality drama made here in the North West by Granada TV. “First Among Equals” vividly portrays the political careers and private lives of four politicians – two Conservative, two Labour – from 1966 to 1991, and their struggles to become the next British Prime Minister. Starting Tuesday Sept. 30th at 9pm you can follow their fortunes and find out who wins.
