A veteran Teessider, Andy joined Tyne Tees in 1990 after working as a reporter and presenter, and later Head of News at Radio Orwell in Suffork.

He joined Tyne Tees as a presenter and reporter, regularly presenting the Northern Life southern opt outs from the old Middlesborough studio, and was the ideal choice to take over from Jake Lynch on Network North, with his appointment seeing a markable change in the programme.

Andy remained as co-anchor of the southern programmes of Network North and later Tyne Tees News.

With the axing of the seperate subregions and the arrival of Mike Neville in 1996, Andy moved to bulletin and reporting duties, usually presenting for the southern part of the region as well as late night bulletins.

With Mike Neville’s illness in 2005, and the decision was taken to split North East Tonight in to two regions, Andy took the role of anchor for the south of the region from January 2006, until September that year.

In recent years Andy has also worked on a number of documentaries including The Railway Story, When We Were Kids and The Way We Were.
