TV voice from ‘outer space’ starts a panic

HUNDREDS of worried viewers flooded Southern Television with calls last night after a “voice from outer space” interrupted a routine news programme for more than six minutes.
Viewers heard a slow, deep “Dr. Who”-type voice proclaim “All your weapons of evil must be destroyed. You have only a short time to learn to live together in peace”.
Police in Winchester, who received more than fifty 999 calls about the pirate transmission, launched an immediate investigation with TV engineers and the Post Office
The hoaxer, who said his message was from the “Intergalactic Association” was heard in all parts of Hampshire and as far north as Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
Housewife Mrs. Janet Stewart, of Basingstoke, said: “We heard a man’s voice announce ‘This is the Voice of Asteron.’
“My little girl, Donna, was frightened and started screaming. It went on right through the news, the advertisements and the start of the cartoons.
“I’m not easily frightened. but at the end I was shaking like a leaf.”
About 15 minutes later the station apologised for interference to sound.
Engineers solve mystery TV interference

TELEVISION engineers believe they have discovered how an “intergalactic” prankster beamed into a TV news bulletin at the weekend, scaring thousands of Thames Valley viewers. The mystery hoaxer, who gave his name as Gillon, somehow managed to override the news broadcast on Southern Television at teatime on Saturday, by putting out his own message through the TV transmitter at Hannington, near Newbury.
The eerie voice from “outer space” warned that “earth people” must live together peacefully or suffer severe consequences. Switchboards at police stations throughout the Thames Valley and at Southern TV headquarters in Southampton were jammed by worried viewers, trying to find out what was going on.
Immediately TV chiefs launched an investigation and yesterday a Southern Television spokesman said engineers believe they know how the mystery message was broadcast
Frightened
The spokesman said: “We have a fair idea of how it happened, but obviously we are not going to release details, for this might inspire another hoax. But we are taking steps to ensure it will not happen again and viewers not frightened.”
The broadcast lasted about three minutes and went out on the air at 5.08pm. If the hoaxer is caught he faces a £200 fine under the Wireless and Telegraphy Act.
The spokesman added that the hoaxer would have had to have had some knowledge of telecommunications.
Police are also investigating. A spokesman at Whitchurch Police Station said: “We went up to the transmitter on Saturday as soon as we heard about the broadcast, but no one was there.”

They will suck your energy from you – the energy you call money and will put it to evil ends and give you worthless dross in return.
Your inner divine self will protect you from this. You must learn to be sensitive to the voice within that can tell you what is truth, and what is confusion, chaos and untruth. Learn to listen to the voice of truth which is within you and you will lead yourselves onto the path of evolution. This is our message to our dear friends. We have watched you growing for many years as you too have watched our lights in your skies.
You know now that we are here, and that there are more beings on and around your Earth than your scientists admit. We are deeply concerned about you and your path towards the light and will do all we can to help you. Have no fear, seek only to know yourselves, and live in harmony with the ways of your planet Earth.
We of the Ashtar Galactic Command thank you for your attention. We are now leaving the plane of your existence. May you be blessed by the supreme love and truth of the cosmos.
